The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has once again opened its application portal to admit new students into the three-semester sandwich programme. In a statement issued on Wednesday 24, February 2021, the management of the institute of education indicated that the second cohort commences on Monday, 15th March 2021.
It is therefore calling on interested applicants with Diploma in Holder Education Certificate to apply to in order to be upgraded to a bachelor degree holder. However, applicants have the opportunity to choose from one out of the courses below:
B.ED. (Post-Diploma) in Early Childhood Education
B.E.D. (Post-Diploma) in Primary Education
B.E.D. (Post-Diploma) in Junior High School (JHS) Education

The Institute of Education, the University of Cape Coast in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) in October 2020 kicked start a 3-semester Bachelor of Education (Post-Diploma in Basic Education) programme in sandwich mode to enable holders of DBE to be upgraded to bachelor’s degree. Applicants were divided into two due to the huge number. The first cohorts began their lectures online and ended with a face-to-face lecture in the various study centres across the country.
However, second cohorts are expected to begin online lectures in the middle of March 2021.
